Many Ukrainian children have been forced to grow up too quickly – witnessing the unimaginable and taking on responsibilities beyond their age.
Instead of school trips and carefree days, many Ukrainian children have faced bombings, occupation, deportations, and loss. Yet even in the darkest times, they show strength and courage.
We call on the world to hold Russia accountable for its crimes against Ukraine’s children.
У п’ятницю, 8 серпня, у Чернівцях відбулася четверта зустріч на рівні міністрів закордонних справ у форматі “Україна – Молдова – Румунія” Андрія Сибіги, Міхая Попшоя та Оани Цою. До зустрічі також доєдналися в онлайн-форматі міністри закордонних справ Польщі та Литви Радослав Сікорський та Кястутіс Будріс.
Андрій Сибіга поінформував колег про щоденні жорстокі атаки з боку Росії та наголосив на важливості повної дипломатичної мобілізації союзників. За словами міністра тиск на агресора має стати руйнівним. Необхідно підвищити ціну продовження війни, притягнути воєнних злочинців до відповідальності, а також надати більшу військову підтримку Україні та збільшити інвестиції в українську оборону.
“Підтримувати Україну – це в національних інтересах Молдови та Румунії. Це інвестиція в їхню безпеку та добробут. Сьогодні Україна є головним контрибʼютором безпеки в Європі”, – зазначив він.
Очільники МЗС обговорили ключові аспекти порядку денного, зокрема: критично важливі питання регіональної безпеки в контексті війни Росії проти України, шляхи забезпечення справедливого та міцного миру, безпеку в Чорному та Балтійському морях, а також Дунайському регіоні, стратегічні комунікації, кібербезпеку, протидію дезінформації та втручанню Росії у внутрішні справи, розвиток торговельно-інвестиційного співробітництва, європейську та євроатлантичну інтеграцію, енергетичну безпеку, розвиток прикордонної інфраструктури та логістичних маршрутів, співпрацю між регіонами.
🇺🇦🇷🇴 Міністр закордонних справ Андрій Сибіга привітав у Києві свою румунську колегу Оану Цою, яка здійснила перший двосторонній візит до України на посаді міністерки закордонних справ.
Очільники МЗС провели детальні переговори, зокрема у сфері економіки, енергетики, транспорту та інфраструктури. Особливу увагу приділили подальшій ізоляції Росії, збільшенню інвестицій в українську оборону та спільному виробництві озброєння.
📍 Міністри окремо зосередились на розвитку транскордонної співпраці, зокрема перспективах відкриття нового пункту пропуску “Біла Церква – Сігету Мармацієй” та на потенціалі розбудови транспортного коридору з грецького портового міста Александруполіс до Одеси через Болгарію та Румунію.
🚄 Андрій Сибіга оголосив про запуск прямого залізничного сполучення між Києвом та Бухарестом, що стартує у тестовому режимі вже сьогодні.
Дипломати також обговорили можливості диверсифікації газопостачання через Трансбалканський коридор, за яким Україна нещодавно отримала газ з Азербайджану.
Глава МЗС привітав створення в уряді Румунії окремої посади Спеціального уповноваженого за відбудову України та відзначив ключову роль двосторонньої співпраці в гарантуванні безпеки Чорного моря та Дунайського регіону.
Андрій Сибіга підкреслив, що Румунія стала першою державою, з якою Україна після початку російського вторгнення вирішила підняти двосторонні відносини на рівень стратегічного партнерства. Дипломати погодились спільно працювати аби остаточно зафіксувати перехід України та Румунії до стратегічного партнерства на рівні президентів держав у цьому році.
💼 Міністр також повідомив, що Україна до кінця року планує відкрити консульство у Сігеті-Мармацієй.

Tragically, two people were killed. Twelve civilians were injured, including two children.
One child is in critical condition, both are undergoing surgery. Six more adults with severe blast injuries are also being operated on.
That same night, Russia targeted civilian infrastructure in several regions. In the Dnipro region, it attacked power grids. In the Odesa region, it hit a gas station, cutting off gas to hundreds of families. In Kherson, it dropped explosives from a drone on people. In Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, it shelled ordinary civilians and private homes.
Russia will only seek peace when it feels real pressure. Now is the time to increase all available tools of pressure – from the U.S., Europe, the G7.

Russia’s war against Ukraine didn’t slow down. It destroys lives every day – in missile and drone strikes, landmines, and cruel occupation.
Its consequences are everywhere: in burned homes and broken families, in contaminated rivers and scorched fields, in shattered hospitals, schools, and entire towns.

16 people, including a child, were killed in Russia’s massive overnight missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital.
At least 64 others were injured, including 10 children.
The strike hit residential areas. One apartment block in a residential district was struck so hard that an entire entrance of a multi-story apartment block collapsed.
In one dramatic rescue, emergency workers pulled a man out alive after he had been trapped under rubble for hours. He fell from the second floor to the first and was pinned by debris. Rescuers maintained voice contact, broke through a neighbouring wall, and tunneled through to reach him.
Search-and-rescue operations are ongoing at two locations in Kyiv; emergency crews continue working at six more. Medics, psychologists, volunteers, and emergency responders remain on-site.
Russia keeps waging its war of aggression. It won’t stop unless it’s forced to. Real peace will come only through strength and justice.
Today, Ukraine celebrates Medical Workers’ Day, honouring those who save lives under incredibly difficult conditions.
Ukrainian medics rush to the frontlines and work tirelessly in hospitals. They support patients through every step of recovery and provide urgent care to victims of Russia’s air strikes on Ukrainian cities. Doctors and nurses also continue to perform surgeries, provide vital care, and support patients every day.
